Boston's Best Valentine's Day Dates For Parents

Getting a single date night in a year is not as easy as it should be for parents, especially new parents and those with young children. That is why so many parents go out of their way to have a very special night on Valentine's Day. Boston accommodates lovebirds with children every year, with both special Valentine's Day offerings and some romantic date options that are available any time of year. The only thing standing between Boston-area couples and a great night is a babysitter.

It is difficult to be spontaneous and perhaps a bit naughty as a parent. If that is what a pair of parents is in need of come Valentine's Day, the Liberty Hotel and its restaurant Clink have the evening covered. By ordering "The Key" cocktail from the bar, which has a notable price tag attached to it, couples get two drinks and the key to a room upstairs. After finishing their drinks in this former prison with cells still standing, they get to go upstairs to a room specially prepared with a few romantic and spicy details. The room also comes with a late checkout, so do not go to bed early.

While the Italian is great in the North End, the South End in Boston has a gem with an authentic French dinner menu that will make any evening a winner. Inevitable time constraints mean parents are very often stuck eating what kids will eat. On Valentine's Day, skip the dinosaur-shaped entrees and eat the arguably most romantic cuisine in the world for a mid-range price that will not hurt too much at the end of the night. Just be sure to make a reservation.

The Comedy Studio

Cambridge, MA 02138

The Comedy Studio is open on Valentine's Day in 2014 (and six nights a week, every week), meaning parents in the area can go out for a laugh on this precious night. Kids' television has its funny moments. However, every adult needs a little humor that is more their speed every now and then. Besides, few things are as romantic as smiling and laughing all night with a partner. It is quite inexpensive to get in the club, which is a casual melting pot for local comedians. The Comedy Studio is a place to kick back, have a few drinks and see comedians in an intimate venue. For Valentine's Day 2014, enjoy the work of Rick Canavan hosting Al Park, Christa Weiss and Jeff Wiles.
