Comedy club goers are in for a treat with this stand-up set from Michael Che. This talented man is funny enough to have written for "Saturday Night Live" and has been named one of the funniest comics of 2013 in Rolling Stone magazine. Visitors may recognize him from a number of comedy television shows and perhaps from other stand-up gigs. He is keeping very busy both in the U.S. and abroad so catch him while he is hot.

Jim Jefferies is a comedian straight out of Australia who gives even the crudest American comics a run for their money. He does not hold back for the sake of feelings, religion or political correctness. He makes horrible things funny and is not coy about it for a second. This is not a show for those who are easily offended, though it may help to note that this comic does not exempt himself from his harsh, realist criticisms.

The Comedy Studio is one of the many Boston-area venues hosting the 6th annual Women in Comedy Festival in 2014. Historically, this festival has mixed talented newcomers and well-known acts like Marie Bamford and Rachel Dratch. The 6th year of the festival will prove to be no exception. Do not expect a series of stand-up acts to fill out the entire festival. There will be physical, sketch, musical and many other forms of comedy. The one thing guests can know for certain is that there will be funny women and they will make the audiences laugh.

Those who are looking for a twist to their comedy can check out the premier murder mystery comedy dinner in Boston at Hotel 140. When they say dinner, they mean it, so this has the potential to be a nice date. It has all of the elements of a typical murder mystery show, but with added laughs. Remember, this is meant to suspend the visitors' disbelief so wear business casual or dressy casual attire. Guests who do not dress for the occasion will not get in the door.
Trash Night: "The Dirt Bike Kid"

For a different sort of comedy event, try Brattle's Trash Night. This monthly event is all about delivering up horrible, "Mystery Science Theater 3000" style films. In fact, audience members are invited to participate, much like the classic show. The awfully hilarious "The Dirt Bike Kid" has Ralphie from "A Christmas Story" riding around on a flying dirt bike trying to save the local hot dog stand from an evil banker. The audience is sure to have a lot to say.
