The Lizard Lounge hosts Poetry Jam every Saturday night, with featured poets and backup music by the Jeff Robinson Trio. It also offers open mic night on Mondays with host Tom Bianchi and a weekly celebrity judge. Various comedy shows and bands perform midweek with advanced tickets available. The Cantab Lounge has Monday night open mic and Wednesday night poetry slam. A mix of blues, jazz, rock, funk and classic soul shows fill the rest of the nights. The Blacksmith House Poetry Series is sponsored by the Cambridge Center for Adult Education and welcomes all levels of writers. Poetry and fiction readings are held weekly at the Blacksmith House with featured poets also reading from their works. Tickets are available 45 minutes prior to readings. Brewed Awakenings hosts Poetry Open Mic and Slam the first and third Thursday of every month with host Anthony Febo. Acoustic Open Mic is hosted the second and fourth Friday of every month. They do not serve alcohol, but there is plenty of coffee, tea, and snacks.
