Boston's Best Hangout Spots After Bars Close
Sometimes the hot spots get a bit too hot, the night sky looks a bit more inviting or just the excitement and fun of a great evening needs a place to cool down and settle in. Most times the company we keep isn't ready to call it a night, which is the reason there are beautiful spots after the bar closes to head toward when in Boston.
All Night Diners
South Street Diner and Bova's, both of Boston, are two well known after hours hangouts that stay open around the clock. There are many others depending on your location, such as Gourmet Express Market & Deli of Cambridge, that are an easy walk or a quick destination that will be guaranteed to have an Open sign happily hanging on the front door. The famous find their way to South Street Diner on any given evening, and once you've introduced yourself expect to be treated like family.
Allston, Harvard Ave.
The college scene is alive and well in Allston after dark. It's a street scene the likes of New York, a city that never sleeps. The vibrant eclectic energy of Allston stays open along with many 24 hour fast food restaurants, including Lone Star Taco Bar with late night service, sandwich delis, pizza places and coffee shops. To help the college student cram for finals, the early morning commuters get a piping hot cup of coffee and, of course, the late night crowd finds their way home. Take a leisurely walk onto Brookline Avenue to find the wildlife sanctuary hidden in a gorgeous nook of the city, or twist and turn along the foot path that makes up the partial route of the Boston Marathon.
Quincy Square continues to have horse drawn carriages. For a nominal fee why not find out if you can have the buggy pull up to your front door? Anything is possible in Boston, especially at Quincy Square, Haymarket. From tinkle lights to gorgeous vistas of the Boston harbor and Old Iron Sides, romantic paths and cruise ships line the docks, amid garden seating and trellised amphitheaters. The choices are ample, after a bar hop experience from the Hard Rock Cafe to The Purple Shamrock. The shipyards of Boston reinvent themselves each and every season, don't forget the open air tank located just outside of Boston's New England Aquarium with garden benches and lit greenery each weeknight.
All You Can Eat Breakfast Joints
Anyone in the Boston area that has danced the night away, bowled til they dropped or decided to take a walk about town will agree that sometimes it's just the best option to head to an all-you-can eat venue. Yes, most of them are not mom or pop stores, aside from the one in Field's Corner that serves hash browns around the clock for only a dollar. Go ahead find it, but we aren't allowed to tell. For an unknown reason many crave the comfort food of pancakes and bacon, a Belgium waffle or eggs over easy sometime around 2 a.m. Take home a loaded tray of comfort food to cuddle down and enjoy the sunrise.
