Boston's Best Brunch Restaurants

A delicious brunch enjoyed on a relaxing weekend makes for a perfect day. Some brunch menus offer mainly breakfast choices, while others have special entrees more commonly eaten midday like salads and sandwiches. Whatever way you choose to go, the relaxed atmosphere of a served brunch is a great way to enjoy dining out. Some restaurants offer a buffet-style brunch and others offer served choices off of a menu. There is no right or wrong way to offer brunch...it is all works.

There is nothing more entertaining than a decadent brunch while you listen to live jazz music. The Beehive, which is located in the South End of Boston, offers less traditional choices than the average brunch. This is Bohemian-style eatery serves several signature dishes like Eggs Shakshuka, which is poached eggs, North African sausage and Moroccan-style tomato sauce over polenta, and a breakfast bowl overflowing with red quinoa, scrambled eggs, bacon, avocado, market vegetables with a parsley vinaigrette. There are also other choices like Belgian waffles topped with mascarpone cheese, a wild mushroom, spinach, caramelized onion and Gouda cheese quiche and hearty beef burgers offered from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for Sunday brunch.

MASA serves a full brunch from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, which includes a starter plus an entree for a very reasonable price. They serve award-winning margaritas on the side, as well as specialty Mimosas, Bloody Marys, Sangrias and Mojitos. The Mexican-inspired brunch offers a two-course special for parties of six or fewer people for $9.95 per person. There are many delectable menu choices including a stuffed Mexican omelet with chili roasted veggies and Monterey Jack cheese and Santa Fe Style Eggs Benedict served on Southwestern biscuits with avocado cream green chile Hollandaise sauce.

Rooftop Champagne Brunch At The Taj offers magnificent views from the 17th floor of this majestic hotel, which overlooks the beautiful Boston Public Garden. This is a pricey March to November seasonal brunch at $74 for adults and $84 if you imbibe with champagne and $37 for children four to 12 years old. The brunch is offered on Sundays with seatings at 10:30 and 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 and 1:30 p.m.; reservations are strongly recommended. The menu choices include a raw bar, made-to-order waffles and omelets, seafood choices and other classic brunch entrees. There is a decadent dessert bar to finish off the meal. The Café at the Taj serves as another brunch choice when the Rooftop is closed for the season. The Café serves brunch on Sundays from 7 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. and has signature dishes, which include rock shrimp hash and brioche raisin French toast.

This is an entertaining and delicious brunch choice at a comfortable neighborhood establishment. The food is fresh and locally supplied. The atmosphere is casual, so jeans are acceptable attire. To keep it interesting and fun, Back Bay Harry's offers a monthly super fan brunch, which is a pop music icon-themed brunch. Celebrities from Beyoncé to Michael Jackson have been honored with named menu items and their popular music blaring in the background. The super fan brunch costs $35 and includes a glass of champagne, abundant appetizers for each party, a choice of a main course and dessert.
