Boston's Best Bars To Rent Out For A Large Party

- By Emily OlsonLooking to plan a party but not sure where to look?  These bars in Cambridge, Brookline, and Boston offer a variety of event options depending on the size of the crowd, the atmosphere, and the theme. Al promise a very festive time.

Hours: Daily 11:30am-1am

Even if baseball is not in season, Boston Beer Works offers a great space for parties and events. Opened in the early 1990's by two brothers, BBW offers 16 microbrews on tap (they brew 50+ lagers, ales, stouts and pilsners annually) and a wide assortment of American pub classics.  Depending on the location (five in the area), BBW can accommodate groups of 20-600 people. Special menus are available in addition to a brewery tour and tasting, should that be of interest to the group.

Not too far from Boston Beer Works, Cornwall's Pub is a popular spot for area university students and groups gathering before a sporting event.  This Kenmore Square bar is a British style pub that offers plenty of food and beer in a relaxing and comfortable atmosphere.  Cornwall's is a good choice for either a casual gathering of friends or a large after work happy hour event.

It's easy to know that Scholar's encourages parties of all kinds and sizes because that's a big part of how the bar promotes itself.  Located in Downtown Crossing near the Freedom Trail, Scholar's offers a full menu of brunch, lunch, dinner, and after hours options along with beverage descriptions (including cocktails, beer, and wine) such as "field trips", "study group", and "history class".  The next time you have a large group outing be sure to check out Scholar's.

Hours: Mon- Sun 11:30am – 1am

Located around the corner from the Kendall/MIT Red Line T stop, Meadhall attracts beer fans, technology consultants, students, and visitors staying in the nearby Marriott Hotel.  With over 100 taps, Meadhall offers a beer for anyone and highlights the popular New England brewers.  The second floor event space can accommodate a range of parties: corporate gatherings, birthday occasions, and conference networking sessions.

Hours: Sun-Thu 5pm –10pm; Fri-Sat 5pm –11pm

Veering a bit outside the Fenway area, Beacon Street Tavern is located next to several shops and local businesses near the St Mary's T stop on the Green (C) line.  The lounge, called the Nite Cap, is tucked behind the dining room and is a perfect spot to host a private party.  Snacks, shared plates, and platters round out the food menu for guests who want a bite to eat with their cocktail or beer.
