WBZ-TV Weather Alert: Severe Thunderstorms Possible Wednesday Evening
BOSTON (CBS) - WBZ-TV's Weather Team has issued a Storm Watch Weather Alert – putting you on guard for potentially impactful weather Wednesday evening.
Our main concern is for the potential of strong to severe thunderstorms north and west of Boston, especially outside of Interstate 495 in central and western Massachusetts.
The Storm Prediction Center in Norman, Oklahoma has placed parts of New England in a "marginal to slight" risk.

So in other words, not everyone is going to see a storm, and not every storm will become damaging.
Nonetheless, we're getting to that time of the year when you need to have a backup plan to seek shelter indoors should a storm head your way.
The general time frame we'll be watching Wednesday is between 3 and 11 p.m. from west to east.
The amount of sunshine that breaks through this afternoon will play a key role in determining how much the atmosphere can destabilize before storms start to pop. In far eastern Mass., stubborn clouds and a more stable marine layer will inhibit the potential for severe storms.
The primary threats in any storms that develop are damaging wind gusts and large hail. Heavy downpours and frequent lightning will also accompany these storms.
Remember, "when thunder roars, go indoors!"
Our team will be monitoring this threat today and update you as warranted through the afternoon and evening.
