Boston To Pilot Late-Night Food Trucks

BOSTON (CBS) --- It will soon be easier to get a late-night food fix downtown Boston.

Starting in April, food trucks will be stationed at Copley Square, Boston University and Northeastern University. Mayor Marty Walsh said the sites were chosen with input from Walsh's Mobile Food Truck Committee and the Boston Police Department.

Trucks vending at these sites will stay open for an extra hour, until midnight, on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.

"Food truck owners and customers have been asking for later hours for food trucks, and we've been listening," Walsh said. "We'll be looking at this pilot to see if it's something we can expand to more sites."

Walsh says if the program is successful, they will consider expanding it to other sites through Boston.
