Boston Statues Don Belichick's Famous Hoodie

BOSTON (CBS) - With the NFL Network's feature "Bill Belichick: A Football Life" set to air Thursday night, some of Boston's most famous statues are getting in the spirit.

Five statues throughout the city are now decked out in Belichick's patented "hoodie" that he wears on the sidelines every Sunday. Among the figures now in Belichick's famous garb include Mayor James Michael Curley, Christopher Columbus, and John Singleton Copley. Copley Square's tortoise and hare statues are also dressed up in the sweatshirts.

Dena Kaplan, the network's senior vice president of marketing, said the city helped identify iconic figures for the famous look.

In addition to the hoodies, the statues may be getting another makeover soon. Parks and Recreation Department spokesperson Jacque Goddard said the NFL Network is making a donation to help fund restoration of Boston statues.

"Bill Belichick: A Football Life,'' gives a behind-the-scenes look at the Patriots' coach as he was wired up for the entire 2009 NFL season. Part one of the two part special airs Thusday night at 9pm on the NFL Network.
