Boston Salons Help Raise Money For Marathon Bombing Victim
BOSTON (CBS) - Surrounded by coworkers, friends and family, Celeste Corcoran gets buried in loving hugs at the Emerge Spa & Salon on Newbury Street in Boston.
"This is my second home. I feel very loved right now," Celeste said. On Monday, in honor of Celeste, a "Boston Strong Celestathon" took place throughout the city of Boston to help raise money for the Corcoran family.
Celeste and her daughter Sydney were severely injured in the Boston Marathon bombings. Celeste lost both of her legs. "I just have to keep on healing. I have to continue with rehab and I have to return to Spaulding in a few weeks," Celeste said.
On Monday more than 20 salons throughout the city dedicated their services to the family to help raise money. "We just love Celeste and we want to make sure she is comfortable and doing as much as we can," Emerge CEO Joyce Hampers said.
Celeste has been working at Emerge for the past 13 years and vows to return again. "I am going to be back. I can't dream of being anywhere else," Celeste said.
