Boston Police Report Spike In Package Thefts
BOSTON (CBS) - Boston Police report a spike in delivery packages thefts in Roslindale and West Roxbury. Four instances of package thefts occurred in the area between December 2 and 3.
Roslindale residents Anna and Stephan Jacobs reported a stolen package on Monday.
Anna said she's not surprised the thefts happened following one of the largest shopping weekends of the year, "My husband was like, 'We've been robbed,' and I said, 'It's just Black Friday and these shopping waves.'"
"We had several other packages that also had been opened with a knife, which were more expensive. Sorry you missed those ones," said Stephan, addressing the suspected thief. "But for some reason they took the probiotics."
Anna said the probiotic tablets Stephan ordered contain, "a good bacteria that restores the flora in your stomach."
According to Anna the tablets were worth less than $20 but the theft doesn't sit well with the Jacobs.
"I think that I'll sort of revert or seek out alternative modes for the packages to be delivered in a different manner," admitted Stephan.
According to a police spokeswoman, the thefts are still under investigation at at this point, police don't know if they are related.
