2 Boston Police Officers At Lynnfield House Party Where Man Was Killed
BOSTON (CBS) -- Two off-duty Boston Police officers were at a house party in a rented mansion that ended in the fatal shooting of a Randolph man Sunday, the Boston Police Department said Wednesday.
Keivan Heath, 33, was shot at the party. He was rushed to Lynn Union Hospital, where he was later died.
In a statement, Boston Police said that the officers in question were cooperating with the investigation, but could not comment on the investigation by Lynnfield and State Police itself, as it is ongoing.
The shooting happened at a mansion on Needham Road around 3 a.m. Sunday. The property, which is listed for sale for $3.5 million, was being rented on AirB&B for the weekend. The renter threw a party, according to neighbors, who said people at the event were college-aged.
Homeowner Alex Styller told WBZ NewsRadio 1030's Karyn Regal Sunday that he has rented out the home on the weekends for years. He said the home was a mess.
"I've been renting for a long time and I've had nothing but extremely positive experience from people who rent the house," he said.
Styller said the renters were middle-aged from South Boston, and had contacted him about three months ago to rent the home.
Massachusetts State Police, Lynnfield Police, and the Essex County District Attorney's office are investigating the fatal shooting, though no arrests have yet been made.
