Boston Police Catch Car Burglary Suspect Inside Car
BOSTON (CBS) - A Boston man is charged with breaking into cars after police officers caught him in the act.
Saturday around 4:50 a.m., officers got a call about a person breaking into cars on Endicott Ave.
Arriving officers parked their cruiser and walked up the road to find a man sitting inside a car that had its passenger-side window smashed out.
According to officers, that man, identified as 34-year-old Patrick Walker, jumped out of the car with his hands raised and claimed he owned the car.
When he was unable to prove that statement, officers searched Walker, recovering several screwdrivers and utility tools.
When police asked Walker to explain why he had those objects, they say he responded "I used them to break into cars."
Officers recovered two GPS systems, three car chargers, a cell phone and a large amount of change.
Walker was arrested and charged with Breaking & Entering a Motor Vehicle and Possession of Burglarious Tools.
