Boston Police Catch 12-Year-Old Boy Tossing Loaded Gun
BOSTON (AP) — Authorities say a 12-year-old boy is facing firearms charges after a police officer saw him throw what turned out to be a loaded handgun into the front yard of a Roxbury home.
The boy, whose name was not disclosed because of his age, was ordered held on $10,000 bail at his arraignment Tuesday in Boston Juvenile Court.
He is charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition and unlawfully carrying a loaded firearm.
Prosecutors say police on patrol Saturday saw five youngsters walking down the street.
An officer saw one of the youths throw something in the yard.
Upon investigation, police recovered a silver .380 caliber handgun with six rounds in the magazine and one in the chamber.
The youngsters ran away, but police tracked them down.
