'Boston Piano Kid' Performs With Billy Joel At Fenway Park
BOSTON (CBS) - Not everyone can say they've fulfilled their childhood dream at the young age of 13, but music maestro or shall we say the "Boston Piano Kid" did just that Thursday night when he performed on stage with his idol Billy Joel at Fenway Park.
"I don't think awesome is the right word. It was euphoric and words can't describe it," Bradley Bartlett-Roche said.
We first met Bradley last month. He's is the youngest musician ever selected to perform at Faneuil Hall Marketplace. He actually started there when he was ten!
"Music is the center of my life. I couldn't imagine the world without music," Bradley said.
He also couldn't imagine a world without Billy Joel. He's been to every one of the piano man's concerts at Fenway Park for the past three years. Every time he went he held up a sign and launched a campaign on twitter to get Joel's attention.
Billy Joel invited the Bradley to play with him on stage for one song. "I played the Root Beer Rag. That is my favorite Joel song," Bradley said.
He even got his shiny shoes autographed by Billy Joel. He says this experienced taught him a valuable lesson. "Follow your dreams and believe in yourself," Bradley said.
Bradley just completed a five week program at the prestigious Berklee College of Music, and was just selected as the solo keyboardist of the Berklee All-Star Rock Band. "My other dream is to spread my music around the world and make a difference," Bradley said.
