Boston Marathon Weather Forecast: Appears To Be Dry Day
BOSTON (CBS) – There's not a whole lot of change from 24 hours ago.
The key to the forecast for Monday continues to be the storm system that will be bringing us rainfall this weekend.

The exact timing of that system and how quickly or slowly it exits our region will help to nail down the details for marathon runners.
It certainly appears as though is will be a dry day on Monday, all weather models currently agree on that.
The weekend rain will exit at some point on Sunday, likely morning-midday.
The difference amongst today's weather models continues to be in the speed at which the storm accelerates away from New England.
It looks like there is about a 50-50 spread, either the storm will be long gone by Monday morning or it will remain close enough to continue to influence our region.
Here are the two possibilities:
1) The storm accelerates quickly out of here Sunday night and on Monday a cold front approaches late in the day, not quick enough for any rain, but the front would turn our winds out of the west/southwest, a warmer wind direction (and at the runners backs). Temperatures in this scenario would likely rise into the low 60s under mostly sunny skies.
2) The weekend storm is slower to exit and we remain in a northwest wind (a bit of a mix of a tail wind and cross wind). This would likely mean more clouds than sunshine and cooler temps in the 50's.
As you can see, we are talking about a temperature range of about 10 degrees between the two scenarios (50's to 60's) and a slightly different wind direction and amount of cloud cover.
Not major differences but these subtle differences are still very important to runners, and we will try to hone in on a more exact forecast as we get closer to the big day.
