Boston Marathon Weather Forecast: 88 Degrees!
BOSTON (CBS) - Records will likely be shattered on Marathon Monday.
Just not the type of records that runners want to hear about.
Our forecast high temperature for Marathon Monday: 88 degrees.

This wouldn't just be the warmest temperature this month, but the warmest this year!
So far our warmest day in 2012 was on March 22 when we hit 83 degrees.
In fact, if we hit 88 degrees on Monday it would be the warmest day since August 19th, 2011, a whopping 242 days ago!
Runners everywhere have got to be saying, "are you kidding me?"

An 88 on Monday would also shatter the old record for the date. The prior record for April 16th was 84 degrees set back in 2003.
It would be the second warmest marathon on record, surpassing the 86 degrees runners encountered back in 2004, and second only to the infamous "run for the hoses" in 1976 when the record high temperature of 94 degrees made the 26.2 mile trek nearly impossible.
Here is the temperature breakdown along the route:
Hopkinton (start): 66 degrees
Natick: 74 degrees
Newton: 81 degrees
Boston: 85 degrees and rising to near 88 by late afternoon
The one tiny bit of good news would be the wind direction.
Winds will be steady and strong at times from the southwest, a direct tail wind for runners.
Winds should average between 10-25 mph for the entire route.
We're hoping for some clouds to get a break from the heat, but it's not likely.
We will be squarely in the "warm sector" of a storm well to our north and west, so skies should remain mainly sunny and hazy all day Monday.
This should be considered a dangerous situation for those running on Monday and any and all precautions should be taken to avoid dehydration and heat stroke.
