Boston Man Spots Great White Shark Off North Carolina Coast
BOSTON (CBS) - A Boston man recently had a once-in-a-lifetime close encounter with a great white shark.
Over the Thanksgiving holiday, Matt Garrett was on a fishing trip 25 miles off the coast of North Carolina when the great white came within feet of his boat.
Garrett grabbed his cell phone and starting recording.
"He was going straight for us, like...about to T-bone us. And he nudged us with his nose, turned around very quickly and slapped the side of the boat with his tail," said Garrett.
Officials at the North Carolina Aquarium said Garrett did exactly what you're supposed to do when you see a shark: he didn't disturb it.
