Boston Man Jailed For Life For Killing Neighbor
BOSTON (AP) — A Boston man will spend the rest of his life in prison without the possibility of parole after a jury found him guilty of raping and killing his neighbor, who had come from the Dominican Republic to seek medical care for her 1-year-old son.
A Suffolk Superior Court jury on Friday convicted Eldrick Broom of first-degree murder and aggravated rape in the Nov. 21 death of Rosanna Camilo.
The 29-year-old Broom and 34-year-old Camilo lived in the same complex in Boston's Mattapan neighborhood. Prosecutors said he entered her apartment, sexually assaulted her, and strangled her with a power cord. Her 16-year-old daughter found her body.
Camilo, a married mother of three, is the daughter of Ruben Camilo, a radio personality in the Dominican Republic.
Broom's attorney could not immediately be reached for comment.
