Boston Man Drowns Off Hawaii Shore
KAUAI (CBS) -- A Boston man drowned on a Hawaiian island over the weekend, authorities say.
Kauai police say 72-year-old Michael Stone was seen swimming about 30 yards off Plantation Hale in Wailua at 4:45 p.m. on Saturday.
"He appeared to be in distress and signaled for help when a friend of the man and another bystander swam out and brought the unresponsive swimmer to shore," police said.
Firefighters performed CPR, but Stone was pronounced dead at a local hospital.
