Boston Man Accused Of Park Plaza Hotel Room Burglaries

BOSTON (CBS) --- A Boston man is being held without bail on a trespassing charge police say is connected to burglaries at the Park Plaza hotel.

On Friday morning, police responded to the Park Plaza hotel for reports of multiple burglaries.

The victims told police items such as cell phones, laptops, cameras, purses, credit cards and money had been taken from their rooms overnight.

While taking police reports, other officers arrested Paul Palrao, 35, for trespassing at the Hyatt Regency Hotel. Hotel staff recognized Palrao from a prior incident there and called police as he allegedly tried to inject drugs in a restroom.

Using video surveillance, detectives say Palrao is responsible for the burglaries at the Park Plaza.

Police have not said how Palrao gained entry to the rooms.

Palrao was ordered held without bail pending a probation surrender hearing related to 2012 convictions for possession of a class B substance and distribution of a class E substance.

Boston Police informed prosecutors Monday, that they expect to seek additional complaints charging Palrao with a series of burglaries at the Park Plaza. Those complaints have not yet been issued.
