Boston Has Cut 1,000 Jobs In Past Few Years
BOSTON (CBS) -- A stalled economic recovery has cost the city of Boston more than 1,000 jobs over the past couple of years.
With little to no funding help from federal or state funding sources municipalities are struggling to stay on budget. Boston is no exception. The city has cut 1,050 jobs over the past couple of years.
Mayor Tom Menino says some of those cuts were efficiency cuts, meaning jobs that had outlived their usefulness.
The mayor will be presenting a new budget to the city council next month.
