Boston Grade School Choir Returns From White House Performance
BOSTON (CBS) - A group of talented kids between grades 3 and 6 will return to school after a trip to perform at the White House.
"The Voices of Renaissance" performed at a holiday reception at the White House on Friday after President and Mrs. Obama invited them.
The choir is from the Boston Renaissance Charter Public School, an all-volunteer elementary school in Hyde Park.
The performance was the second consecutive trip the choir made to the White House. The visit came at the end of a tour that featured performances at the Children's National Medical Center and two Washington, DC schools.
The children performed a variety of Christmas music for their audiences.
"I am so proud of these kids," Dr. Roger F. Harris, the school's Superintendent and CEO, said in a release. "They brought a little holiday cheer to The White House at a time when it was needed."
