Boston Dedicates JP Street Corner To Fallen Detective Sherman Griffiths
BOSTON (CBS) - The city of Boston dedicated the corner of Moraine and Center Streets in Jamaica Plain on Saturday to a Boston police detective killed 25 years ago.
Detective Sherman Griffiths was shot and killed while serving a drug warrant in 1988.
Griffiths' widow and daughter were on hand along with Mayor Menino, Boston Police Commissioner Ed Davis, and many others for the dedication of Hero Square.
Griffiths was an Army veteran and had served with the Boston Police Department for five years.

Following his murder, five of Griffiths' brothers joined the Boston Police Department as police officers.
