Boston College Going With Throwback Unis Vs. Notre Dame At Fenway Park

BOSTON (CBS) -- The playing field is set, and now, so are the uniforms.

On Tuesday, the Boston College Eagles showed off the uniforms they'll wear Saturday when they take on Notre Dame at Fenway Park.

It's fitting that Doug Flutie was used to model the unis, as they're throwbacks to commemorate the 1984-85 season. That's the year Flutie led the Eagles to a dramatic win over Miami on his famous Hail Mary pass to Gerard Phelan, and BC went on to beat Houston in the Cotton Bowl.

While they'll only be a few miles from Alumni Stadium, Saturday's tilt against the Fighting Irish is not a home game for Boston College. The game is part of  Notre Dame's yearly "Shamrock Series,"so they'll have the honor of calling the famous ball yard their home field for the day.

Whether it's a home or away game, the luster is not lost on the Eagles.

"[Fenway Park] is such a cool venue. We are in our back yard. It's a unique setup and it's going to be a great atmosphere," BC head coach Steve Addazio said Monday.

The Eagles come into the game at 3-7 on the season, while Notre Dame is 9-1 and ranked No. 4 in the country.

The Irish will also wear special uniforms for Saturday's game at Fenway, going with an all green look.

Hopefully they won't blend in too much with that giant wall in left field.
