Celtics Will Reportedly Get Their Meeting With Durant On Saturday
BOSTON (CBS) -- For the Boston Celtics, their offseason will come down to a Saturday in the Hamptons.
Danny Ainge and the Boston brass will reportedly meet with free agent Kevin Durant on Saturday, in hopes of convincing the seven-time All Star to join the Celtics.
Boston will reportedly be the third team Durant meets with this offseason. He'll first chat with his Oklahoma City Thunder on Thursday before free agency gets underway at midnight on Friday. After that, he'll head to Long Island to hold meetings with five other teams, with the Los Angeles Clippers getting their sit down with the star on Friday.
The Golden State Warriors, San Antonio Spurs and Miami Heat will also get meetings with the 27-year-old Durant, the prize of this offseason's free agent class.
Durant, the second overall pick by the Seattle SuperSonics in 2007, has averaged 27.4 points and seven rebounds per game over his nine-year NBA career. He shot a career-high 57 percent from the floor last season for the Thunder, averaging 28.2 points per contest.
