Bruins Win Big In Preseason Finale
[photogallerylink id=46533 align=right]Patrice Bergeron netted two goals and three assists Tuesday en route to a 7-1 Bruins victory against the Liberec White Tigers in Boston's final preseason exhibition game. The scoring began late in the first period when new addition Nathan Horton settled a bouncing pass from David Krejci and fired the puck behind starting goaltender Marek Pinc.
Bergeron earned his first goal on a breakaway in the beginning of the second stanza. The White Tigers pulled within one after ex-NHLer Andrej Podkonicky scored on an incredible 2-on-0 breakaway, but they couldn't keep up much longer. Rookie Jordan Caron quickly retaliated with a shorthanded goal, and the Bruins never looked back.
Bergeron, Greg Campbell, Blake Wheeler, and Tyler Seguin all scored in the third to make the final score 7-1. Despite his rough season last year, starting goalie Tim Thomas looked to silence his critics Tuesday, boasting a solid performance between the pipes.
