Boston-Area Buildings Evacuated After Earthquake
BOSTON (CBS) – People in the Boston area describe the earthquake as scary, unsettling and surreal.
Several buildings in the Boston-area were evacuated.
Large crowds began gathering outside two buildings in downtown Boston that people thought were touching after the quake.
WBZ-TV's Kate Merrill reports
Police and fire crews checked out the building at 111 Devonshire, and cleared the scene.
Fire officials tell WBZ that is how the buildings have always been, and they are not concerned.
There was no major damage or injuries in the Boston area but fire departments were not taking any chances.
WBZ-TV's Christina Hager reports from Brookline
Three buildings on Beacon Street in Brookline were evacuated.
Emergency lines were flooded with calls of people reporting tremors.
Cracks in the foundations of the three buildings were deemed to be safe, and everybody was allowed to re-enter the buildings.
