Man and woman found dead at Moxy Hotel in Boston
BOSTON - Two bodies were found in a hotel in Boston's theater district Monday afternoon, police said.
Boston Police told WBZ-TV they were called to the Moxy Hotel on Tremont Street around 12:20 p.m.
According to WBZ I-Team sources, the bodies of a man and woman were found in a room on the 13th floor.
The homicide unit was notified, police said. Suffolk District Attorney Kevin Hayden was also called in to the scene.
Hayden said that there is no threat to the general public or guests at this time. But guests are concerned about what they say is a typically safe place to stay.
"It scares me because this is one of my favorite hotels, so I kind of want to be safe and I've asked the investigator to see what happened because this is something for me and my family to be safe," one guest said.
The medical examiner took the bodies away around 3 p.m., but now some guests are wondering how long the bodies were there before they were discovered.
"It's insane. And there's no soundproofing in those rooms either. I was listening to the people next to me watch movies all night," said Samantha Poorman who is visiting from Michigan.
Some guests are looking for another place to stay after seeing that their hotel had become a crime scene.
"I'm going to try to find someplace else to stay. I'm checking in here for two nights to celebrate my birthday and without knowing more information it kind of gives me I guess reservations to not want to stay here, so I'm gonna go see what else I can find," said Ericka Weathers who is visiting from Philadelphia.
No other information is available at this point in the investigation.
Moxy Hotels are part of the Marriott hotel group. The Boston hotel is on the same block as the Boch Center - Wang Theatre on Tremont Street and is one block from the Boston Common.
