Beers On T&R: "Doesn't Get A Whole Lot Worse Than That"
The Bruins have dropped three games in a row and Tuesday night loss was really rough. The B's went down by three goals early to the Tampa Bay Lightning and were never able to come back as they lost 6-1.
98.5 The Sports Hub's Bruins color analyst Bob Beers spoke with Toucher & Rich about the recent poor performances by the Bruins and Tim Thomas.
The Bruins have been giving up multiple goals early through this recent stretch of games. Has Beers ever seen a team struggle like this so early in games consistently?
"No, and yesterday it's got to be considered the worst, right? I mean some of the goals that were scored they just can't go in at those times and when you're down three nothing and you haven't landed a shot on goal yet it doesn't get a whole lot worse than that."
The B's are dealing with a handful of injuries, but can they be blamed for the way they have been playing recently?
"You can't blame injures and here's why because what was Tampa Bay doing last night? They have a rookie goaltender in there he's playing his third game, they lost their number one goaltender to an injury."
How worried is Beers about Tim Thomas? Is it physical or mental with this guy?
"The last couple of days have been the time where I've really started to get concerned a little. I wasn't before, but now I am because at some point age is going to catch up to you and I'm hopping that isn't the case right now."
Can Claude Julien be to blame for any of what's going on with this team?
"Well he can't stop a puck."
"His options are limited in terms of who he puts out there and what combinations he puts out there."
