Birthday Gift: Worcester Marine Vet Wins $2,500 A Week For Life
WORCESTER (CBS) – A U.S. Marines Corp. veteran and college student just won $2,500 a week for the rest of his life.
Ryan Bartholomew of Worcester got a $5 scratch ticket from his grandfather for his birthday recently that turned out to be a winner.
Bartholomew's grandfather bought the ticket from Holly Farms in Webster.
Bartholomew, who is 25 years old and is currently taking classes at Quinsigamond Community College on the GI Bill, plans to use the money to start saving for his future.
He's guaranteed at least a $2.6 million payout. If he lives to be 100 years old, Bartholomew will have collected close to $10 million before taxes.
