Man Shot And Killed In Billerica Armed Home Invasion
BILLERICA (CBS) – A man was shot and killed during an armed home invasion in Billerica Saturday morning.
Police say someone broke into the house at 795 Boston Road around 3:50 a.m.
The 22-year-old victim, Quentin Koehler, was transported to Lahey Clinic, where, according to the hospital, he died. Neighbors say Koehler lived with his grandmother.
Residents and online databases call the area the safest in Billerica.
"There's always people in the neighborhood. It's not one of those neighborhoods where people go to work during the day and the streets are empty," said Jack Conroy who lives a block away.
Conroy raised two sons in his home of more than 30 years and says he can't even remember the last time anyone's home was broken into in the area.
"It's a really good neighborhood. What's happened here is extraordinary. It doesn't happen here," said Conroy.
Officials do not believe that this was a random attack.
The address was linked to a nearby drug-related home invasion and shooting in 2011. In that case a 49-year-old man was shot.
