Bill Belichick's Hoodie Tracker
BOSTON (CBS) - Patriots head coach Bill Belichick is a fashion maven.
His weekly attire on Sunday is always a hot topic around the water cooler come Monday morning, win or lose.
Here is a look at Belichick's threads from each game of the 2012 season, and how they may have solely affected the outcome of that Sunday's game.
Week 15: 49ers 41, Patriots 34
It was a sloppy night at Gillette Stadium on Sunday, both in terms of the weather and the Patriots' play on the field.
The Patriots turned the ball over four times against San Francisco and suffered their first December loss at Gillette Stadium since 2002.
Belichick doubled up for the chilly night game, sporting a hoodie under the winter jacket that saw huge wins over both the Colts and Jets just a month ago.
The jacket will get a break next weekend with a trip to Jacksonville, but will likely get a chance to redeem itself in Week 17 when the Patriots host the Miami Dolphins at Gillette.
Week 14: Patriots 42, Texans 14
On a mild Monday night at Gillette, Belichick broke out a new blue sweatshirt -- with the sleeves still attached!
The Patriots rolled to a dominating 42-14 win over the Houston Texans, who entered Gillette with just one loss. The Patriots had little problems handling the Texans on offense and defense, showing the rest of the AFC and NFL they will be a force come playoff time.
Week 13: Patriots 23, Dolphins 16:
In the warm Miami air, Belichick went back to the windbreaker/pullover that brought him and the Patriots a win in Week 1, but a loss to the Cardinals in Week 2.
It's back on the winning track, as the Patriots pulled off a 23-16 win over the Dolphins to clinch their fourth straight AFC East title and a playoff spot.
With three home games left -- two of which are prime time night games -- the windbreaker may have to wait for Week 16 in Jacksonville to make it's next appearance.
Week 12: Patriots 49, Jets 19
The winter coat made a Thanksgiving night appearance against the Jets, and the results were very similar to those it had against the Colts just four days ago.
The Patriots rolled against the Jets scoring three touchdowns in a 52-second span and putting up a 35-spot in the second quarter.
Not to mention, Belichick looked warm all evening. He may have even had a drumstick or two in the pockets for a mid-game snack.
Week 11: Patriots 59, Colts 24
Forget the hoodie. It was all about Belichick's winter jacket on Sunday against the Colts.
While the hoodie has enjoyed great success this season, the new jacket -- which looks like a tamed-down version of George Costanza's famous Gortex jacket -- brought the Patriots plenty of punch against Indy. The Patriots did it all on Sunday, scoring on offense, defense and special teams.
If all it takes is a little winter jacket to bring out a stellar performance in all three phases of the game, Belichick must be thinking bring on the cold winter of New England.
Week 10: Patriots 37, Bills 31
It was another warm afternoon in Foxboro, and Belichick stuck with what has been working as of late. The new hoodie improved to 4-0 with the Patriots 37-31 win over the Bills on Sunday. Although with no sleeves, Belichick has no excuse for his awful throw of the challenge flag in the fourth quarter.
It's just going to get colder as the season wears on, but Belichick might want to keep going out there with just the hoodie and an undershirt. Although with night games against the Texans and 49ers -- in Foxboro, IN JANUARY -- we might see the return of the winter jacket soon.
Week 1: Patriots 34, Titans 13
Belichick and the Patriots started the season off with a win in Tennessee, where Bill sported a Patriots windbreaker. Following the victory, it appeared that Belichick had found a lucky new early-season look ... at least until the following week.
Week 2: Cardinals 20, Patriots 18
Belichick went with the windbreaker again in the Patriots' home opener against the Cardinals. Following the Patriots' stunning defeat, thanks to a last-second field goal miss by Stephen Gostkowski, the Patriots fell to 1-1 on the year and the windbreaker took its place in the back of Belichick's closet.
Week 3: Ravens 31, Patriots 30
The Belichick sweatshirt look returned in Week 3, but this time without a hood. The Patriots and Belichick learned their lesson the hard way.
The Patriots suffered their second-straight defeat on a last-second game-winning field goal by Justin Tucker, and the Ravens walked off with a 31-30 win over a hoodie-less Belichick.
The crew neck sweatshirt hasn't been seen since...
Week 4: Patriots 52, Bills 28
Bill Belichick was back to his normal self in Week 4 in Buffalo, sporting a gray hoodie -- although it's not his normal gray "Patriots Equipment" hoodie.
But he did the proper Belichick-stylings by cutting off the sleeves, and the Patriots came back to beat the Bills 52-28 thanks to a 31-point fourth quarter.
Week 5: Patriots 31, Broncos 21
Worlds collided on a brisk and gloomy autumn day at Gillette Stadium when Belichick combined the hoodie and a Patriots rain jacket.
But the Patriots held on to beat the Broncos and restore order in the AFC East -- at least for one week.
Week 6: Seahawks 24, Patriots 23
In another rainy affair, Belichick went with the hoodie/raincoat combo again in Seattle. The Patriots' struggled in the fourth quarter and they fell to the Seahawks, who scored two touchdowns in the game's final eight minutes.
The hoodie and rain jacket haven't spoken to each other since.
Week 7: Patriots 29, Jets 26 OT
Belichick threw a bit of a curveball to all of us on Sunday, switching outfits midway through New England's battle with the Jets.
Bill started the game with a simple blue sweatshirt with no logos on it. The rest of the New England coaching staff were in "Pat The Patriot" sweatshirts for the throwback Sunday (the Patriots wore their old red jerseys for the game).
But that all changed at halftime, when Belichick went back to his gray hoodie. It didn't have the same second half effect as it did in Buffalo, but the Patriots came back (after blowing another fourth quarter lead) to beat the Jets in overtime.
Week 8: Patriots 45, Rams 7 in London
It was a warm and rainy day across the pond in London, and luckily Bill Belichick had his new lucky sweatshirt.
The Patriots blew out the Rams 45-7, scoring 45-unanswered points after the Rams scored on their first possession.
However, the sweatshirt look has not caught on overseas just yet, according to our sources.
So what does Bill Belichick's outfit have to do with the Patriots performance thus far? Well, nothing. Or everything. That is really up to your interpretation.
