Bill Belichick, Robert Kraft, Patriots Participate In Ice Bucket Challenge
FOXBORO (CBS) -- With the "Ice Bucket Challenge" continuing to spread via social media, very few folks have avoided getting challenged by friends and colleagues. That includes the New England Patriots.
Toucher and Rich called out Bill Belichick last week, and Giants owner John Mara challenged both Belichick and owner Robert Kraft on Monday.
Well, on Tuesday, along with the players, Belichick and Kraft participated in the challenge after practice.
"We're going to make a significant contribution, and we hope everyone else who participates does the same," Kraft said. "John [Mara] had just initiated this with Coach Belichick and myself, but up here in New England, we're about team, and the whole team wanted to be a part of this.
Last week, Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman accepted the "Ice Bucket Challenge," and he passed it along to Tom Brady, Rob Gronkowski and Danny Amendola. It appears from Tuesday's video that Edelman double-dipped on the challenge.
After completing the challenge, Kraft passed on the challenge to the New York Jets, Buffalo Bills and Miami Dolphins.
The "Ice Bucket Challenge" continues to go viral, with thousands of people dumping a bucket of ice water over their heads to raise awarenessfor ALS. The campaign was started by former BC baseball captain Pete Frates, and it has spurred a surge in donations in the fight against ALS.
