Bill Belichick Heaps Praise On Kevin Faulk At Hall-Of-Fame Induction Ceremony
BOSTON (CBS) -- Kevin Faulk practically embodied the Patriots' ground game during their first three Super Bowl runs as Tom Brady's favorite target out of the backfield and a third-down machine. It's clear that head coach Bill Belichick was a huge fan of Faulk, who played 13 seasons in the NFL, all with the Patriots.
Belichick spoke at length about the former Patriots running back when he met with reporters at Faulk's Patriots Hall-of-Fame induction ceremony Monday night. When asked about Faulk's visit to the current team as well as meeting with his former Patriots teammates, he did not hold back praising Faulk's time in New England.
"[Faulk] had a connection with a lot of players, he was a great teammate, and also made a lot of connections with the coaches and the people in the organization, wasn't just player connections," said Belichick. "He touched everybody in a positive way and very unselfish, worked hard, had great leadership because he did the right thing, and he had the ability to bring people with him. So, really all positive from Kevin."

Belichick brought up the concept of ball security, arguably the No. 1 factor in determining who gets the ball in the Patriots backfield, and lauded Faulk for overcoming early-career fumbling problems.
"Ball security is job security, so he took that to heart and, you know, I think over the last – I forget exactly what it was, seven years of his career, or whatever – he only had a couple of fumbles. So, he made great improvement in that area because he made a commitment to it."
Faulk's career-long commitment to getting better should only be a positive factor to motivate the Patriots' young running backs, and every other position at that, to seize their roles through sheer hard work and preparation.
