Biggest Storm This Season

This title doesn't hold much 'weight' given the 'snow drought' we've had so far this winter season.

When comparing it to the season thus far, Saturday's snow is setting up to be the biggest snow this winter.

I must admit that I'm excited!

This morning, we are waking up to snowfall amounts that add up to a coating to almost 5" of snow.  The 'hot spot' was in Bristol County.

North Easton received 4.5" of snow.

Thumbs up to the road crews who made my early morning drive a cinch! :)  Thank you!

Watch Melissa Mack's forecast:

That being said, please be careful this morning as there may be some slick spots, especially for those secondary roads.

The remainder of the day will require sunglasses as we will be under sunny skies.

High temperatures will be in the 30-35F degree range along with breezy west-northwest winds.

Saturday's storm is going to be the most robust storm we've seen so far this season.

The vortex of the low will remain south which keeps us in a 'colder' sector and also indicates the highest QPF amounts the farther south that you reside.

So, we are forecasting 3-6" snowfall for Worcester, along the Pike to Boston, and points south of the Mass Pike.

The only exceptions will be the 'elbow' of the Cape, the Outer Cape, and the Islands where a little mixing may reduce snowfall amounts to the 1-3" range.

North of the Pike can expect to see 1-3" of snow with isolated amounts of 4" closer to the Mass Pike.

The snow will set in around 7 to 8 a.m. and come to a halt near 5 or 6 p.m.

The fluffiest snow will be near the Mass Pike and northward due to the colder temperatures.

However, it will be a heavier, wet snow south of the Mass Pike as temperatures will be closer to freezing.

Patriots Game:

Sunday will be a great day for FOOTBALL! :)

Kick-off at 3 p.m. will be partly sunny with temperatures in the middle 30s.

The 4th quarter will still be dry and quiet with temperatures in the lower 30s.

Mild temperatures return early next week.

Happy FRRRiday!  ~Melissa :)
