2 sentenced in biggest coke bust ever in NH

Two Mexican nationals convicted in what authorities say was the largest single cocaine bust in New Hampshire history have been sentenced to more than 16 years in prison.

Prosecutors say Ciro Lopez Garcia and Marco Garcia traveled from Texas to Manchester last year to protect a nearly 100- pound cocaine shipment valued at $1.5 million. They were convicted in April.

Ciro Lopez Garcia, who lived in Pharr, Texas, before his arrest, was sentenced Friday to 18 1/2 years in federal prison. Marco Garcia, who lived in La Blanca, Texas, before his arrest, was sentenced to 16 1/2 years.

Authorities say the Garcias were part of a ring that brought more than 220 pounds of cocaine from Mexico to the United States.

The men were the only two of six arrested to go to trial. The others pleaded guilty and await sentencing.
