Beyond The Forecast: Summer-Like Mother's Day On Tap
BOSTON (CBS) – We have another day with summer-like temperatures on Saturday, although, the morning fog was rather dense in some locations along the south coast, Cape, & islands.

Temperatures Saturday depend on how much sunshine a location gets.
Inland looks mostly sunny with highs around 80. Along the coast more clouds linger, with highs around 70.
Mother's Day will be very warm and a little humid. Highs reach the mid- to upper-80s thanks to a strong west and southwest (offshore) wind.
The average high for Boston this time of the year should be 64 degrees. We will run 20 degrees or more above normal!
Extended Outlook:
A cold front moves into northern New England Sunday afternoon. If you are traveling to Vermont, New Hampshire, or Maine you may run into a shower or two.
That cold front sags to the south during Sunday night and stalls out over New England. By Monday and Tuesday we have an increased chance for scattered showers and thunderstorms. Late Monday into Tuesday will be our best chance for storms with more instability available.
Strong storms are possible inland, but we will update through the next few days.
We remain just south of the front, so temps will still be in the low to mid 80s. Cooler (seasonable) & drier air returns for Wednesday and Thursday.
Tropical Storm Ana:
Ana is now a tropical storm off the Carolina coast. Tropical storm watches and warnings are posted along the coast. Wind speeds are up to 60 mph.
Rainfall of 1-3" expected in North & South Carolina. Ana is expected to turn northwest later today and will speed up its forward progression.
Ana will weaken as it turns north, northeast Monday into Tuesday. By the time it passes south of New England on Tuesday, it should be a typical low pressure system for us.
The south coast may experience high surf on Tuesday and maybe some enhanced rainfall totals.
