Amesbury Sports Park is open for snow tubing Thursday through Sunday as well as holidays and school vacation. The park features three hills. The main hill with six lanes is open Thursday and Fridays. On weekends, two lanes on a steeper hill open, as well as a special hill for toddlers. New in 2010, you can "ride the frozen rapids" on the weekends, which is group sledding in a rubber boat. On Thursdays and Fridays the hills are open from 3:30 p.m. to 9 p.m; Saturdays 10 a.m to 9 p.m. and Sundays 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Three-hour passes are $22 and all day passes are $30. There are two lifts to get tubers back to the top of the hill.

Not just a ski area, Nashoba Valley also has a tubing park nearby. The Tubing Park has its own dedicated area, entrance and lodge, so be sure to follow the directions. There are 15 lanes and four lifts. The park is open during the week from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m. and on weekends and holidays from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. A two-hour ticket costs $25. All riders must be six years old or 42 inches tall.

Ski Ward has its own tubing park known as TubaSlide and it's open every day with six lanes and two tow lifts. From Monday through Friday it's open 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. On Saturdays, holidays and school vacations it's open 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and on Sundays it's open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. During the week two-hour tickets cost $20, otherwise they're $22. All riders must be six years old or 42 inches tall.

The Beastly Tubing Park at Berkshire East Ski Area in Charlemont is open on the weekends and holidays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. There are three lanes, each 450 feet long. A moving ground lift takes riders back to the top of the mountain. Tickets are sold in two hour increments. Tubers 12 and older pay $20, under 12 is $15. Everyone who's riding must be 42 inches tall and they must be able to get in and out of a tube and carry their own tube while walking.

Located about two hours west of Boston in Pittsfield, Bousquet offers tubing on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. There are five tubing chutes and a carpet lift to get you back to the top of the hill. $15 will get you a two-hour ticket. Tubes are supplied, and children must be at least five years of age and able to ride the tube on their own.

In addition to its ski mountain, Ski Butternut has a tubing center with seven lanes and a handle lift. All tubers must be able to ride alone, sit in tubes alone, and ride in the tube up and down the hill alone. A two-hour ticket costs $18. The tubing center is open on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
