Best Places For Off-Roading Near Boston
Off-roading can be a ton of fun, but finding a place to do so can be a challenge. Most public areas have restrictions for off-roading, but there are a couple of places that you can legally ride. Only a handful of state parks and other areas have ATV and OHM trails, but those will give you exactly what you're looking for.
In Massachusetts, most of these trails require permits, so be sure to check the websites provided before showing up to ride. Also, buying a seasonal permit may be more cost-effective, so checking into that is also suggested. Many of the locations listed below only give a certain amount of permits per day and per year, so doing your homework and planning your trip is essential.

Going to the cape is something many people enjoy, but getting to off-road on the cape is a-whole-nother experience! Many people love to be near the ocean, and feeling the fresh air while being on an ATV or OHM is pretty rad. There is only about 10 miles of terrain available to off-road here, but you can't really beat the atmosphere. This is one of the only places on Cape Cod that allows "beach" riding. Again, you will need a permit, so check out the website listed above for more information.
