Reach is a summer dance program for teens in the greater Boston area. The program culminates in this free performance that includes jazz, hip hop, modern and ethnic dance - all with original choreography. The 45 minute performance in Central Square is not only a fun, free, family activity, it also provides wonderful inspiration for other aspiring dancers. The performance will take place in an open lot, so make sure to bring your own chairs to best enjoy the show.

Each summer the Institute of Contemporary Art in Boston's Seaport District hosts a fantastic series of live performances both in their museum space and on their gorgeous outdoor terrace. Attending these performances is free with museum entrance. One July performance to look forward to is focused on artist, choreographer and dancer Maria Hassabi. She combines modern dance with sculpture to make observers consider space in a new way. What makes her performance particularly special is that it happens continuously throughout the day all through the museum, so every viewer will experience the performance at a different time in a different way.

Salem's Peabody Essex Museum is one of the greater Boston area's true gems, and the performance offerings are not to be overlooked. In partnership with BoSoma Dance Company, the museum is currently offering 101 days of "gestural performance" as the main exhibit. This series of performances explores the sculptural genius of Rodin and his famous works, including "The Thinker." Dancers will perform around sculptures in the exhibit gallery to perfectly juxtapose movement and stillness in a thought-provoking way.
