The Greatest Bar

website and reviews
Naturally the best way to watch a big game is on a big TV. The Greatest Bar boasts a 14-foot high-definition screen; they claim it's the biggest in Boston. Before the game, the bar gets fans amped up with a 90-minute highlight video of some the greatest moments in Boston sports. Like most others near the garden, the place is absolutely mobbed for the pre-game.

The picture we found on their Facebook page pretty much says it all. We would love to see that trophy back in Boston!

Any sports bar named after "number four, Bobby Orr…" has to be a winner. The food ranks among the highlights and 42 TV screens make it easy to see the game no matter where you are sitting or standing. Sports Illustrated once ranked The Fours #1 Sports Bar in America.
Sullivan's Tap
168 Canal Street
Boston, MA 02114

website and reviews
If you want a clean, upscale, family-friendly environment, go somewhere else... seriously.
Sully's has the look, smell and feel of a true dive bar. Longtime Bruins fans will tell you it's also the best hockey bar in Boston. We mean it. These guys live and breathe hockey. They can tell you stories about the Big Bad Bruins of the '70s rolling in after games to grab "a drink."
Disclaimer: Not recommended for bandwagon fans.
Hurricane O'Reilly's
150 Canal Street
Boston
617-722-0161
website and reviews
Hurricanes bills itself as more of a nightclub, but on game days, Bruins fans flock there. The $3 Miller High Life bottles are reason to head there. The big screens on almost every wall are reason to stick around.
McGann's Irish Pub
197 Portland Street
Boston, MA
617-227-4059
website
Shhh… This unassuming Irish pub remains a pretty good secret among Bruins fans. It sits steps from the TD Garden and is easy enough to pass by. Once you find it, there's a good chance you'll be back.
HONORABLE MENTIONS
Boston Beer Works
112 Canal Street
Boston, MA
617-896-BEER
website
The food is great and go figure, so is the beer. There are some areas here where we found it difficult to watch the game in comfort.
Tresca
233 Hanover Street
Boston, MA
617-742-8240
website and reviews
You won't find HDTVs on every wall, but this higher-end Italian joint is co-owned by Bruins legend Ray Bourque. If that's not a guarantee the game will be on, we don't know what is. For the sophisticated Bruins fan, Tresca has one of the most extensive wine lists around.
Grand Canal
57 Canal Street
Boston, MA
617-523-1112
website and reviews
Grand Canal is an obvious stop if you're walking from the Haymarket Square. The main part of the bar is wide open and boasts 50 plasma screens. It also offers a strong selection of beers.
