Bergeron Joins Gresh & Zo: Bruins On A Roll
BOSTON (CBS) - With the NHL playoffs right around the corner, Boston Bruins forward Patrice Bergeron joined 98.5 The Sports Hub's Gresh & Zolak on Wednesday to talk about the team's recent resurgence.
After a 5-2 win over the Tampa Bay Lightning Tuesday night, the Bruins are winners of three straight.
"Its been awhile so we're pretty happy about it. But we have to keep going," Bergeron said of the B's recent turnaround. "I think it took us awhile, but it's always like that. When you're going through a tough time like that it takes time to get back in shape and in form; the way you're supposed to play. I think we're feeling a lot better about our game."
"When we're all on our game and feel good about our team, obviously we're very confident," he said. "When we have the approach, when we come into the game to win it and we all do our job and play our role, we're a tough team to beat. We showed that last night. We didn't give much on the defensive side of it and on offense we capitalized on our chances."

A big reason for the Bruins' success has been the play of captain Zdeno Chara, who was honored Tuesday night for hitting the 1,000 game mark over the weekend. Less than 300 players have hit the milestone, and Chara is just the 91st defenseman to do so..
"To me it means a lot. I think as a player, if you look at careers, a lot of them are short. It's tough to do, to achieve 1000 games especially in a sport like hockey where it's such a long season and a very physical game," said Bergeron. "I think it's a huge achievement. It's hard to do; it's hard to get to 1,000 games. I've played 500 and I feel like I've played forever."

"The way he did it is even more impressive. He's been a force for so many years now and has won the Norris for best defensemen twice already. It's pretty impressive," he said.
Bergeron is one of the 17 Bruins set to participate in "Cuts for a Cause" on Wednesday, getting a buzz-cut for to benefit the Boston Bruins Foundation and Floating Hospital for Children at Tufts Medical Center. It's an event that Bergeron and the B's look forward to every year.
"It means a lot. Anything we can do to help the community and obviously the kids. This is an easy thing to do for us to raise money," he said. "Hair is going to grow back. The fans are awesome to get involved and give money to a great cause."
