Recchi only spent two and a half season with the Bruins, but immediately became a fan favorite for his veteran leadership. He was a strong voice in the locker room, getting respect from all his teammates
Recchi thanked the B's for letting end his career with the Stanley Cup in hand.
"I can't thank the Bruins organization enough for making my last few years amazing, Getting the opportunity to play with these guys… We starting in Vermont for training camp, went to Prague. We played together, we drank together, we lost together and it never wavered. But the one thing we really did together; we won!"
The Bruins went through training camp in Vermont and began the season with two games in Prague. This gave them the opportunity to bond as a team and really learn to play as a unit.
