Belichick Relaxed Heading Into Super Bowl

INDIANAPOLIS (CBS) - This week, there's just been something different about Bill Belichick.

From the way he's walked to the way he's talked, it's been a calmer, friendlier version of the Patriots head coach on display in Indianapolis.

Belichick, though, doesn't see much of a change.

"That's different than the way it normally is?" Belichick joked with reporters Thursday. "What do you mean?"

WBZ-TV's Steve Burton reports from Indy:

The coach was asked if this is "the real Bill Belichick" that we're seeing.

"I don't know," he said. "I'll leave that to you, to the experts."

Despite the change in perception from the public, Belichick's demeanor isn't surprising many of his players.

"When it's work time, it's work time, but there is a little bit of time for joking around and he's more than willing to joke around," Logan Mankins told reporters.

"When it's time to get down to business, he's time for business. That's what we want from him – he's our leader. We know when it's time for business that he's going to show us it's time for business.

"That's the great thing about Bill," Mankins added. "You always know what you're going to get from Bill. You don't have to show up to work wondering what Bill is going to be like."
