Beers With Gresh & Zo: 'Thomas Has Been Leaky'

Boston Bruins color analyst Bob Beers joined 98.5 The Sports Hub's Gresh and Zo on Friday, and started things off by talking about the recent shaky play by goaltender Tim Thomas.

"I'm the first to join you guys in saying he needs to tighten up, I don't think there is really any question about that," said Beers. "He's just been a little leaky here recently in some of the goals that have been scored, and some of the ones he's expected to have have found a way in."

Beers also said he has been impressed with Jordan Caron as of late, who kind of fits in to the Mark Recchi mold of players.

"They'd love for him to step in there and be a guy they can go to down the stretch and, of course, into the playoffs," Beers said of Caron. "When you look at Caron's game recently the confidence level has definitely been there for him. He's taken the puck to the net harder, he's conscience defensively, he's pretty good along the wall; he's getting better in that area and that's a spot he needs to be really good in. He doesn't have the blazing speed, so he needs to be tenacious along the boards."

Beers ended the interview with good news for Boston Bruins fans as he compares this season to last year's championship season.
