Beers On Toucher & Rich: Is This Series Over?
The Bruins have a chance to do something that no one thought they'd have a chance to do before this series started, sweep the Penguins. That's right, with a win tonight the B's will have swept the favored Penguins to head to the Stanley Cup Finals for the second time in three years.
98.5 The Sports Hub's Bruins color analyst Bob Beers joined Toucher & Rich to discuss this potential series ending game, the injury to Gregory Campbell and the possible plan for Penguins coach Dan Bylsma.
Halfway through the second period of Game 3 the Bruins lost Gregory Campbell after he took a slapshot to the right leg from Penguins' Evgeni Malkin. Play continued and Campbell had to stay on the ice due to the Bruins being unable to clear the puck. Campbell remained on the ice for 50 seconds before he got the chance to get off the ice and it was later reported that Campbell suffered a broken leg.
Has Beers ever seen this type of thing happen before? With Campbell out for the remainder of the playoffs how will the Bruins fill the vacant spot?
If the Bruins score first will the Penguins just deflate? What is Dan Bylsma's plan for his Penguins team tonight to avoid elimination?
