Bedford, NH Family Mystery Baffles Investigators
BEDFORD, N.H. (CBS) - The mystery deepens in Bedford where neighbors are reeling from two separate incidents involving the very same couple.
It all began in November when Eduardo and Sonia Quesada said an intruder broke into their luxury home and savagely attacked them.
They had serious injuries.
And now Mrs. Quesada has been found dead and her husband unconscious inside his mother's home on Monday. The Quesadas had been living there.
Investigators were on the scene Tuesday taking photos and videos.
Eduardo Quesada has been an anesthesiologist associated with Elliot Health System in New Hampshire, and a statement from the hospital released today said, "We are all very saddened to learn of the death of Sonia Quesada. Our thoughts and prayers have been with this family since November. We now hope Dr. Eduardo Quesada may recover from these tragic events and we continue to keep the entire family in our thoughts."
In this latest incident, authorities say there was a large amount of prescription medication found inside the condo where the Quesadas were living. The home is owned by Dr. Quesada's mother.
Dr. Thomas Andrew, chief medical examiner for the state, tells WBZ-TV there were no obvious signs of injury or disease to Mrs. Quesada. The autopsy results are undetermined pending toxicology reports, which could take up to eight weeks. He also says she had healed up well from the injuries she sustained in the November attack.
WBZ-TV researched court records involving the couple in New Hampshire and only found two speeding tickets for Dr. Quesada.
As previously reported in November, Dr. Quesada had also been arrested in 2011 following a domestic disturbance call at his home but the charges were dropped.
