Bedford, NH Little League Building Vandalized

BEDFORD, N.H. (CBS) -- At least one vandal caused several thousands of dollars in damages at a Bedford, N.H. Little League building late Saturday night.

Board member James Arangio says it appears the suspect or suspects broke into the Nashua Road building through the window.

He says a fire extinguisher was sprayed inside the building, and food and Gatorade bottles were emptied out of the refrigerator. The suspect also defecated in one of the coolers, he added.

An estimated $5,000 worth of damages were done to the "snack shack," according to the Bedford Little League website. The league is trying to raise money to cover the cleanup and repair costs, and as of Monday morning they had raised $100.

It's not the first time the building has been a target of vandalism, as someone spray-painted a swear in large letters on the back of the building about a month ago, Arangio says.

The Bedford team won the state Little League title this year, Arangio said, but it's unclear if the motive had anything to do with that.

Anyone with information is asked to call Bedford police at (603) 472-5113.
