Beckett to Start Friday
Josh Beckett is set to return from the DL and start Friday against the Mariners in Seattle. Terry Francona announced the decision following the team's 4-2 loss to the Texas Rangers. Beckett has made just 8 starts (1-1, 7.29) this season, with his last appearance on May 18.
Beckett landed on the disabled list with a strained lower back.
Other injury note for the Sox; Clay Buchholz will start vs. Oakland on Wednesday.
OF Jeremy Hermida will play two games with AAA Pawtucket, and then could join the big club during their 10 game western road trip.
